Our workshops are not only fun and sociable, but also provide a foundation for scientific and nutritional knowledge. This knowledge, combined with a hands-on application, enables each individual to explore their own creativity.

One of the best things about the Mediterranean diet, especially southern Italian food, aside from being delicious, is that it’s so simple! At Pastamadre Workshops we reevaluate traditional home-style cooking by keeping things simple, playing with a few high-quality ingredients, and bringing the best out of them!

FRESH-HOMEMADE PASTA WORKSHOP + DINNER
Life is a combination of magic and pasta (Federico Fellini)

For everyone, from beginners to accomplished home cooks, the classes are a mix of demonstration and hands-on participation.
 

We orient ourselves to the tradition of Cucina Povera and Grandma's Cooking, which offers many recipes that correspond to the values that are most important to us at the moment. Our recipes are therefore always very simple and at the same time sustainable, healthy, as seasonal and local as possible, and very tasty! 


The food is prepared from a vegetable base so that everyone can eat without problems.

In our classes we place great importance on creating a family atmosphere in which eating simple but lovingly prepared meals together nourishes the body and soul in equal measure

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SOURDOUGH BAKING
Class for beginners.

 

Discover the unique flavors and health benefits of sourdough baking. The classes are a mix of scientific and hands-on demonstrations.

Begin the wonderful adventure of baking with sourdough with us!


Our intent is to provide you with knowledge, motivations and inspirations to be able to experience home baking, despite its challenges, as an extremely satisfying and enjoyable activity that can have positive repercussions in many aspects of your life.

The course is also suitable for those who already have experience but want to deepen the sourdough-baking topic.

ADVANCED SOURDOUGH BAKING COURSE


Discover methods and techniques how to make Italian sourdough pizza at home. The classes are a mix of scientific and hands-on demonstrations.
 

The course is aimed at anyone who - even as a beginner - wants to understand and experience what makes pizza such a popular and special pastry.
 

Topics such as flour strength, proper rising and baking temperatures, and different preparation techniques will be explored. Our aim is to inform, inspire and motivate you about the benefits of using sourdough starter in pizza baking too.


For those who want to deepen their knowledge and experience of sourdough, we recommend that you first attend the bread course.

We will finish tasting our sourdough pizza, just out of the oven!
You will also take a jar of sourdough and your own pizza dough with you in order to practise your "pizzaiolo" (pizza maker) skills at home.

Our fermentation courses are - not only but especially - interesting for people in community gardens, SoLaWi / CSA and Berlin allotment garden colonies.

Fermentation becomes for you an everyday sustainable way to deal with changing amounts of vegetables. 
 

Fermentation is one of the oldest techniques to preserve food. This preservation method is simple, inexpensive, sustainable, produces aroma and intense flavor, and provides us with wonderful support for our microbiome and health.

This lively food not only strengthens our immune system - it also promotes our physical and mental well-being! For us, a healthy diet, mindfulness and sustainability go hand-in-hand - in a very practical way.

  • the science behind lactic acid fermentation: the chemistry and biology behind fermentation.

  • how to ferment with a chopping board and knife.

  • how to ferment vegetables: from “mashing” and “massaging” - the better the preparation, the tastier the result.
